It has been architecturally designed to take advantage of the stunning views. The charming town of Westport with its colourful, well-planned landscaped streets is only 10 miles away and offers the tourist excellent facilities including shopping, leisure activities, restaurants and pubs with traditional music. Enjoy a day climbing the Croagh Patrick mountain which is a famous Connemara landmark. Explore the 2,000 hectares of the Connemara National Park by foot, car or bicycle. This is an excellent base for exploring the beautiful coastline of Co. Mayo and Co. Galway, and a short drive leads you to Killary Harbour, Ireland's only fjord. Leenane boasts two adventure centres, and locally there is golf, cycling, fishing and horse riding, making this a great place for a holiday at any time throughout the year. Shops 5 miles, restaurant 10 miles, pubs 3 miles.
