This attractive stone-faced, detached cottage is in an elevated site and has been designed to give panoramic, breathtaking views from the large, airy living areas and enclosed patio, of the sea and mountains, and overlooks Kenmare Bay across to the Beara Peninsula with its mountains. The house stands only a mile from a sandy beach with many more to be found in the surrounding area, particularly the extensive beaches at Derrynane. Here you will find stretches of golden sands, sandy and rocky coves and rock pools where the children can discover all types of sea life. Derrynane House and Gardens are worth a visit, with its tropical plants which thrive in this mild climate, warmed by the Gulf Stream. The property is located on the small Lambs Head Peninsula, and the small village of Caherdaniel is 2½ miles away, where you will find two pubs, including the `Blind Piper', and a restaurant. There has been a human settlement around Caherdaniel for over 2000 years, and there is a ring fort, or `caher' just outside the village. Situated only 2 miles from the Ring of Kerry, this is an excellent base for touring and there are many sea-based activities to be found locally including wind surfing, surfing, body boarding and canoeing from the water sports centre. For fishermen, there is sea fishing locally, and lake fishing at Waterville, 9 miles away, where there are also two golf courses, one a championship links course. Day trips can be made to explore the Ring of Kerry, the Dingle and Beara Peninsulas and Derrynane with its 16th century abbey ruins. There is excellent walking and climbing, and this area is also perfect to just relax and unwind, and enjoy all the area has to offer. Shop 2¼ miles.
