Relax in the garden and grounds of house, or visit the lovely sandy beaches or other attractions in the area. Try to visit the scented gardens at Coëx, take a trip to one of the islands, one of which is accessible across a ford only at low tide, or visit the fishing port at St Gilles. There is a ferry crossing in the summer season from St. Gilles over to the Ile d'Yeu - a small protected island with its pretty villages, coastline and ancient citadel. There is also the famous resort at Les Sables d'Olonne 20 km to the South, where you can stroll along the promenade and check out the cafés and restaurants. A short drive finds: 18-hole golf at Coëx, riding, go-cart/quad bike track and paintball, or have a wander through a market in one of the several pretty local villages.
