Aughavannagh Cottage

Aughavannagh, Aughrim, Wicklow,Ireland

A beautifully restored cottage sleeping 7 in the spectacular Wicklow Mountains one hour south of Dublin.

Aughavannagh Cottage is a recently restored old Irish farmhouse set beside a small stream in a secluded mountain valley. Only one hour from Dublin, this charming house sleep up to seven in perfect comfort. Situated on five acres and surrounded by glorious views in every direction, it's the perfect location for 'getting away from it all'. Fully equipped with every modern convenience and yet retaining all the charm of the original house, this lovely cottage offers blissful peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings.

The accommodation comprises a fully equipped kitchen complete with oil-fired range, a sitting room with open fire (t.v.,video and stereo), four bedrooms (two doubles, a twin and a single) two bathrooms and a utility room with washer and dryer. To the front is a graveled courtyard complete with garden furniture and barbeque whilst to the rear the lawn opens up to lovely views of Luqnaquilla, Wicklow's highest peak.

County Wicklow is situated on Ireland's east coast, south of the city of Dublin. Known as 'The Garden of Ireland' it manages to pack an amazing variety of scenery into a relatively compact area. The appeal of Wicklow includes stunning mountain scenery, long golden beaches and a wealth of historical attractions from ancient monastic settlements to fine period houses and estates. Wicklow contains some of the most appealing landscapes in Ireland. Long glaciated valleys punctuate a wild and untamed expanse of heather clad mountains whilst in the valleys between, pretty villages provide welcoming pubs and restaurants.

For an area so easily accessible from air and ferry ports, the area is blissfully devoid of mass tourism, indeed one of the greatest challenges for the visitor is to find high quality accommodation with character that can accommodate larger families or groups.
Golf, sailing, horse riding and fishing are all available nearby and the Blue Flag beach at Brittas is just over half an hour's drive down the valley. Aughavannagh Cottage lies just off The Wicklow Way, Irelands longest way marked walking trail - making it the perfect location for exploring the mountains.

'Aughavannagh Cottage, high in the Wicklow Mountains, is just the prettiest picture postcard example of a comfortable home from home. Perfect for families or groups of friends'.
