This beautiful Suffolk cottage with oak beams is set in large well kept garden with exclusive use of indoor heated swimming pool open all the year except during term time only for a short time after school on Tuesday - Thursday and Saturday am as pool utilised for small private swimming classes.
Wingfield is an ideal rural getaway, especially for those wanting a quiet break to unwind. The property is ideal for artists, walkers and cyclists as it is surrounded by quiet lanes and footpaths. Locally there are many traditional English pubs (Adnams) and restaurants with fine cuisine (Fox & Goose). Not far is Framlingham, Snape and Southwold, and a little further is Dedham, Constable country and to the north the Norfolk Broads. See also local attraction of activities the web site for Wingfield Barns http://www.wingfieldbarns.com/
There are still traces of many WW2 American bomber bases nearby (95th Bomb Group Museum, Horham). Unlimited internet connection is available. In under 2 hours you can be in central London by car/train from Diss station.
The property is equipped with sheets, a bath towel and hand towel for each guest (we suggest you bring your own swimming towels), we hope everything you might need in the kitchen. Both properties have oil central heating. On arriving the key is accessible in the key lock by the front door, and Sarah will give you the code before your arrival. You are welcome to walk around the garden, but we would hope you would respect the privacy of our father (Tommy) who still lives in an annex adjacent to the property, but he always welcomes a chat and he knows alot about the area.
There is a large garden for your enjoyment with apple trees and borders with flowers bushes and figs. Please help yourself to any produce especially the herbs, parsley. sage and thyme. The original fishing moats are still adjacent to the garden and although we have fenced the garden off, we would ask you ensure children play away away from there for their safety. There is also a 4 acre wood recently planted by our father, and you welcome to enjoy it. Picnic there, walk around it or just sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity. We recommend guests bring their own ready to use barbecues, however we will provide something suitable next year.
