Description of Granton Coach House

Granton Coach House 4 Star luxury self-catering accommodation for 2/3 people. Situated between Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth in the Wye Valley. Ideal for holidays and short breaks. Golf, fishing, walking, canoeing nearby.

The coach house is in an ideal location for either a holiday or short break, with so much to see as well as plenty of activities available locally, e.g. walking, forest trails, fishing, canoeing, horse riding or golf, and there are beautiful gardens to visit nearby as well as National Trust properties. The house is located approximately 40 minutes from the Chepstow, Hereford and Cheltenham racecourses. Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham airports are approximately an hour away with Heathrow airport being approximately two and a half hours away. The Celtic Manor golf course that is staging the Ryder Cup, is about 35 minutes away by car. Goodrich Castle, managed by English Heritage is just a short walk away and is well worth a visit. The market towns of Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth are close by as are the spectacular Symonds Yat, the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and the Royal Forest of Dean. Cardiff, Hay on Wye ( famous for it’s literary festival), Abergavenny (famous for it’s food festival), Hereford, Malvern (famous for RHS Spring and Autumn Shows), and the Cotswolds are all less than an hours drive away. It is a superb cottage for 2/3 people to enjoy a romantic and memorable holiday or short break.

Local Information

The village has 2 pubs both within walking distance serving good food and a small shop. There is also Goodrich Castle where there is an excellent coffee shop serving lunches, morning coffee and afternoon tea.

Accessibility Details

The property is not suitable for wheelchair users.It is situated entirely on the first floor with access via short external stone steps with a handrail.

Notes

Normally full week bookings are taken for 2 people. Pets are not accepted. The property is not suitable for toddlers or small children.

Changeover

Our changeover day is Frday. Guests are welcome to arrive from 3pm onwards. Departure is before 10am. Please call us before you arrive to arrange key collection.

Booking Conditions

A 30% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance payable 6 weeks prior to your arrival. You may like to consider holiday insurance cover. Please see our website for full terms and conditions

Getting Here

By Road

From Ross-on-Wye
From Ross-on-Wye (Wilton Roundabout) take the A40 towards Monmouth Ignore the first turn to Goodrich and Goodrich Castle and look for the second turn immediately after going under a road bridge. Take this turn passing the 'Cross Keys' pub on your left. Proceed along the lane ignoring the first lane on the left and continue for another 400 metres down the hill. Granton House is straight ahead of you, before the sharp bend.

From Monmouth
From the Monmouth Roundabout, follow the A40 east towards Ross on Wye for 4.9 miles and take the second exit to Goodrich signed “light vehicles only”. This turn will take you over the top of the A40 and you will see the 'Cross Keys' pub on your right. At the small T-junction, turn left, ignoring the first lane on the left and continue for approximately 400 metres down the hill. Granton House is straight ahead, before the sharp bend.
