Description of Little Briar CottageLittle Briar is a pet friendly detached stone cottage facing south with exceptional views over Loch Earn, Ben Our, Glen Ample and 16th century Edinample Castle in the quaint village of Lochearnhead. The cottage is charming and compact elevated within three acre landscaped gardens complementing the design of the owners original b listed thatched cottage; once the home of ancient crofters from clans McGregor and McLarens.
Little Briar has its own parking for 2 cars and a turning area with space on the grounds to park a boat and trailer too. The ground around the cottage is landscaped and maintained beautifully all year roujnd. The gardens include a large paddock of cut grass where dogs can roam freely. There is a stream running the length of the property with a picnic table at the top offering a vantage point for photographers. Your pet may also care to swim in the loch from the slipway in the garden with your permission. Everyone declares that their pets coat is cleaner and softer after a dip in Loch Earn. If you enjoy fishing or want to try it, you do not need a permit to catch trout from Briar Cottages garden. Fishing is free from March 15th to October 6th. The loch garden also houses the owners summer house and picnic table which you can access during the day. There is a hot tub on the grounds and you are welcome to a shot of it if you give Kim and Fraser notice to set it up for you.
Little Briar has a double bedroom, twin room and bathroom sleeping 4 with one pet or 2 adults can bring 2 dogs. The all electric, double glazed cottage is cosy. The lounge has a leather sofa and electric massage chair. The dining table is glass with 4 leather seats and is next to the compact kitchen area with a double fan oven and microwave, fridge and ice box. The television is Sky Freesat and there is a DVD player with DVD's, WiFi access, books, games and leaflets in the cottage.
The cottage is only 200 metres from two hotels with bars and restaurants. There is also a water sports centre and cafe in the village plus a grocer and post office with a cash machine. Lochearnhead is the perfect base for touring Scotland with the A84 and A85 leading to tourist towns and attractions in all directions. This region of mountains, lochs and forests is also a great outdoor pursuits base with golf courses, fishing, cycle route 7 and Munro's on the doorstep. Kim and Fraser Proven will be on hand to show you around their property and will invite you inside the thatched cottage to view the original cruck timber ceiling.

Local InformationThere is a general store in the village less than a mile away and a Post Office selling Scottish gifts, ice-cream, sweets, doggie products and more. The co-op in Killin is 7 miles away and open most nights until 10am. There is a mini Tesco in Callander open 7am to 11pm. ASDA will deliver goods to your cottage if you order on-line using postcode FK19 8PU and your moible number. There is a private store in St Fillans on the East end of Loch Earn too. There are 2 hotels in the village and many more excellent eateries within a 15 mile radius plus a coach and taxi company in neighbouring Balquhidder.
Accessibility DetailsThe property is not suitable for wheelchair users. The cottage is on one level however please note that anyone with limited disability would need to drive up the slope to the cottage car park. Also the electric shower is within the bath.
NotesShort breaks of 3-4 nights are calculated at 70% of the weekly price based on where the date lies on the first night of the holiday.

Getting HereEdinburgh and Glasgow airports are 58 miles away. Follow the motorway to Stirling and come off the M9 at junction 10 -Crianlarich. Follow the A84 TO Lochearnhead 30 miles. When in the village, turn right onto the A85 Crieff road. Briar Cottages entrance is 700 metres on the left. Look for the thatched roof with the straw ducks on top!
