This is a perfect retreat for those who like walking or sightseeing as it can be just a base within one hours drive of major towns in Devon and Somerset. Visit Taunton or Exeter for the Record Offices, the quaint villages of North devon and Somerset such as Dunster and Lynmouth as well as the south coastal villages of Lyme Regis and Budliegh Salterton. This cottage is well placed for visiting all of Devon, Cornwall and Somerset, as far as Bristol, Wells and Bath from junction 25 or 26 of the M5.

Nearest is the Blue Ball in the village of Sampford Moor, 20 minute walk (about .5 mile) away down the hill.
A short drive away are the Culm Valley Inn in Culmstock (Good Pub guide), the Merry Harriers and the Half Moon Inn in Cullompton.
Wellington, the nearest town, has a good range of local food shops, a cheese and wine shop, regular Farmer’s markets, restaurants and a classic cinema. Taunton and Tiverton are within easy reach with ten-pin bowling, swimming pools and a multi cinema complex. This is a good central location with easy access to the M5 or A303.

Getting HereThe M5 junction 26 is within three miles and you can drive to the property using the directions on the website.From the north. Follow the M5 south to junction 26 - Wellington. Take the third exit as you come down from the motorway on the first roundabout, signposted Wellington. Continue for approx .5 mile. At the next roundabout (Chelston) take the first exit along A38 - through the next main roundabout and along Wellington Bypass. Continue along the A38 for approx. 2.0 miles entering and leaving the 40 mph speed restrictions. Soon you will see Buildbase a builder’s merchants on your right. Turn immediately left, opposite Bagley Road, at the staggered junction, signposted Hemyock and Sampford Moor. You should immediately enter the hamlet signposted Pleamore Cross. Take the first left, going over the motorway,past the wicker sheep, first right driving parallel to the motorway and then third left, up the hill, signposted No Through Road. You will find Spring Cottage on your left, at the top of the hill, just after Broomstair, the owner’s house. Park beside the cottage leaving room for cars to pass.
