Description of The Bonnard Museum VillaThis is indeed a true hidden gem in the heart the lovely village of Le Cannet on the hill overlooking Cannes, between the famous village of Mougins and Cannes
It is the closest villa for rent to the recently opened Bonnard Museum.
This 17th Century village house has been entirely refurbished in the last years and whilst still retaining a charming provencal feel - the property has 3 well designed modern bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen.
The villa is presented over 3 levels with (distant) sea views from the 2 upper level bedrooms. The 3rd bedroom is at garden level. All bedrooms can be made up either with king or 2 single beds.
The drawing room has a large Italian sofa bed. The dining room with large dining table has convenient direct access to the kitchen and terrace.
The outdoor area is really lovely with suspended garden and terrace area. The house has all up to date amenities to include air conditioning, wifi, satellite tv and plasma tv.
There are plenty of local shops close to the villa as well as a convenient taxi service directly to the Croisette and a new fast track bus link to the Croisette.
Extremely quiet neighborhood!
Features of The Bonnard Museum Villa
Local InformationLe Cannet, also called France's Madeira, is an old historical town between Mougins and Vallauris, on the hill overlooking the bay of Cannes : it has much to offer in terms of artistic life and has been the haunt of famous painters, especially Pierre Bonnard who is buried there (the new Bonnard museum was inaugurated there on 27 June 2011). It is for tourists who want to experience the genuine local life, the historical sites and get a taste of the local folklore in addition to visiting the French Riviera.
The owner of the villa is a descendant of the 140 Ligurian families who, in the 15th century, came from Italy at the invitation of the monks of the Iles de Lerins (off Cannes) to cultivate their orange-trees. The genealogical tree on Place Bellevue still bears testimony to the adventure of the foundation of the village.
