Description of The Auction House

The Auction House is part of a stylish new conversion of Ryde's Victorian sale rooms. New for the holiday market, it has been equipped and furnished in boutique hotel style to provide a relaxing and luxurious base for your holidays.
Downstairs the sitting room is furnished with comfortable Laura Ashley sofas, OKA furniture and oak-style flooring. French windows open out onto the courtyard - perfect for sitting out with a glass of wine or morning coffee.
The stylish kitchen/dining area incorporates a peninsular bar so the cook doesn't miss out on any action with guests The kitchen is equipped to a high standard with e.g. professional pans and Sophie Conran crockery. Table and chairs for 4.
There is a downstairs cloakroom.

Upstairs there is a beautiful mahogany,hand-carved, four-poster kingsize bed in the main bedroom with a stunning sunburst canopy. The second bedroom has comfortable twin beds. Both bedrooms have crisp bedlinen and proper pillows! The stylish bathroom has a large shower-bath with a shower over - great for relaxing after a hard day sightseeing.

Outside there are two patio areas - a private space to the side of the house and another patio which overlooks the courtyard. Sun-loving shrubs - olives and palms thrive in the Island's sunny climate. There is a table and chairs for 4 and sun umbrella for al fresco meals. A barbeque is provided. There is an outbuilding where bicycles may be stored.
Travel cot and high chair available for our younger guests.
Internet access is provided.

This is our own holiday home and it has been furnished to a high standard - a little luxury is important on holidays we feel and hope our guests agree!

Local Information

As the Auction House is in central Ryde all the usual facilities are within very easy reach.
There is a large Co-Op supermarket and excellent bakery around the corner and a Tesco Extra on the outskirts of town. Don't miss the Saturday Farmers' Market for artisan breads, freshly-cought crab and lobster and organic produce from the Island.
Ryde has plenty of chic shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.
There is a lovely marina, miles of golden sands, an outdoor swimming pool with retractable roof, bowling alley, bowling green and ice rink. Ryde is renowned for its miles of golden sands - only a 5 minute walk from the house.
There are lovely walks along the coast to the quaint village of Seaview and to the stunning abbey at Quarr.
Havenstreet steam railway ( 3 miles) permits you to hop on and off at villages along the way.

Changeover

Changeover days are Fridays.
Short breaks are Fri-Sun and Mon-Fri. We are able to provide more flexibility if needed outside school holidays Oct-May.

Booking Conditions

A booking deposit of 150 is required for full week bookings. The balance is payable two months prior to arrival.
We also request a damage security deposit of 150 for bookings of a week or more. This is fully refundable subject to no damage or excessive cleaning being required.

Getting Here

Ferries to the Island operate from Southampton-East Cowes, Portsmouth-Fishbourne and Lymington ( New Forest) - Yarmouth.
The property is 15 minutes from East Cowes,10 minutes from Fishbourne and 30 minutes from Yarmouth.

In addition for visitors without cars, there is a catamaran from Portsmouth to Ryde Pier. The house is a 5 minute walk from the pier. Ryde is also well served by buses from East Cowes which pass nearby Fishbourne.
