Our detached former farm steading has been tastefully converted to form a uniquely traditional yet modern dwelling sleeping up to 5 plus infant with all the conveniences you would expect from a quality self-catering holiday cottage.
A perfect tranquil retreat from the hub of city life both families and couples will relish their time spent at Windrush knowing they have the best of both worlds with a great central base close to many towns and cities in this beautiful part of Scotland.

Windrush Holiday Cottage dates from 1880 originating as a farm steading grain store barn. Tradionally stone built with pan-tiled roof exterior whilst inside the style is somewhat modern whilst maintaining a sense of the countryside tradtions and comfort for our guests.
The spacious cottage is self contained with a private garden and parking area with no neighbouring onlookers apart from the 4 legged variety in neighbouring fileds.
Comfortably sleeps 5 plus a baby with flexible arrangements to suit groups or families.
Main entry to the property is via the kitchen.......
Dining table and fitted kitchen with fridge-freezer,double elctric fan oven ,extractor fan hood, gas hob,washing machine, tumbler dryer, dishwasher, microwave ,toaster , kettle , mixers , iron and board etc along with all cutlery , towels , plates, pots and pans you will need .
2 comfortable memory foam single beds
and chairs .
Extra large living room which splits neatly into two areas ....the double height open ceiling of the left area has a large woodburner stove ideal for cosy evenings in wintertime .3 piece sofa and a double sofa bed .
French doors lead out to the rear garden area with clothes drying area and log and coal bunker.
Other side has a comfortable leather suite and 42' TV , DVD player and Freesat channels along with a wide selection of DVD's , books and toys in a sideboard. Those with musical talent may wish to play the piano . French doors lead out onto patio and BBQ area.

Hand and bath towels are provided for each guest along with complimentary soap in the bathroom.
Staircase leads up to the master galleried bedroom.

Local InformationAmple local amenities , Ceres village being closest at 2 miles , offering a small supermarket , pubs ( offering music and entertainment nights most weekends) , Fife Folk Museum , art galleries and coffee shop and antique shop as well as the famous Wemyss Ware Pottery.Award winning fine dining only 5 minutes drive away in Peat Inn. Larger supermarkets can be found in the towns of St. Andrews and Cupar where a wide variety of boutique and specialist shops and fabulous places to eat can also be enjoyed.Ceres hosts the oldest Highland games the last Saturday of each June .
The world famous Old Course , hosting the Open championship this year , and the British Golf museum in St Andrews will be a must see for the keen golfer but with over 70 golf courses within reach, including the recently restored Hickory Golf course at Hill of Tarvit only a mile from Ceres, you will be spoiled for choice.
This area of Scotland is famous for the delicious soft fruits in summer and early autumn and no visit would be complete without sampling some raspberries , strawberries or the unique 'Tayberry'. Just 6 miles away is Cairnie Fruit farm with it's famous mega maze and childrens play areas and splendid tea room where you can 'pick your own' or just indulge in some cream strawberry scones ...mmm mmmm .'Muddy Boots' also offers locally sourced produce and a fun area for kids with delicious food for all.
There are local farmer's markets in both local towns Cupar and St. Andrews offering the best of local produce including Scottish wines , cheeses and meats.
The East Neuk and surrounding area provides many hidden surprises for visitors, with it's numerous sandy beaches and rock pools that will have children entertained for hours, historical churches and buildings, quaint wynds to meander down and harbours with working fishing boats, there is something which will appeal to everyone. Swimming and other sports can be enjoyed at many centres.
Other pusuits include watersports, clay pigeon shooting, Scotland's secret bunker, Scottish Deer Centre, soft play centres, Knockhill raceway , aquariums in St. Andrews and North Queensferry , botanic gardens, art and craft galleries etc.
Fife boasts five of Scotland's six 'Blue Flag Beaches' and plenty of other award winning beaches as well.

Accessibility DetailsThe property is perhaps not suitable for wheelchair users . The bottom floor with kitchen bathroom and bedroom is accessible from the kitchen door with no steps. There are 3 small steps leading up into the main living room areas and a staircase leading up to the larger bedroom.There is only one step up to the french doors for access to the living areas too. Car can be parked very close to entrance door..
Notes** please note that the availability calendar on this site only shows 7 night weekly breaks but we offer weekend 3 night breaks ( Fri-Mon ) also mid-week short breaks of 4 nights (Mon-Fri) which are cheaper . Sometimes in the busy summer months only full week breaks are offered but please do check or enquire directly .
November through to end February( apart from Christmas and New Year weeks )breaks of 3,4 or 7 nights can be chosen on any start day of the week.
Booking ConditionsYou will be able to complete the booking process on-line. Alternatively, you can book by telephone where we will be happy to assist you in completing your booking as easily as possible.
Short breaks are not normally available in the summer season (May to September) and other peak periods such as Christmas, New Year and school holidays, except perhaps occasionally on a last minute basis.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if your preferred starting date is unavailable as often dates are somewhat flexible.

A 30% deposit is required to secure a weekly booking with the balance due 4 weeks before your arrival.
Short breaks of less than 7 days must be paid for in full at the time of booking.
Bookings less than 4 weeks before arrival must also be paid in full,
No security deposit taken.
