Description of Amble BackAmble Back is our lovely new holiday cottage. It dates back to 1880, a red brick character cottage in a terrace of three on the edge of town. You will find a cosy home where the contemporary furnishings offer modern convenience within a period character cottage.
The lounge has a lovely open fire with some coal and logs provided. There is a flat screen freeview TV and DVD player and a squashy comfy sofa or, if you prefer, rocking chair to relax in. After dinner why not read one of the books you will find on the shelves.
The fully-equipped handmade kitchen includes a full size cooker, dishwasher, fridge (with freezer) and microwave. There is beautiful Orla Kiely crockery in the cupboards with lots of cookware should you choose to eat in. A table for four is in the kitchen and you will find tea, coffee, and other larder items provided free for your use. If you prefer to eat out there is a choice of pubs and cafes all within easy walking distance. Alternatively, you can drive a short distance to the delightful New Forest pubs or the numerous restaurants, cafes and pubs in Ringwood or Salisbury.
Sleep and bathe
On the first floor is the spacious family bathroom with a shower and bath. Luxury towels are included in your stay. The spacious double bedroom has a comfortable kingsize bed with feather duvet and pillows (synthetic if preferred), fresh cotton linen compliments the bright room. There are 2 wardrobes and ample shelf space for your clothes. A hair dryer will be found in the drawers. Ascend to the second floor to find the fun attic room with 2 single beds that can be pushed together. The room is a delight for children and adults alike. The rooflight looks out over the garden and the beautiful ash tree.
The kitchen opens into a porch area, ideal for coats and boots. This leads onto the patio and a small lawn for relaxing or playing. In the shed you will find a BBQ with coals and tools. A mature ash tree provides welcome dapled shade in the summer. The garden is fenced.
Amble Back is on a narrow side street. You can pull up outside to unload. There is on street parking just 15 metres away. We also provide a parking permit for the car park 5 minutes walk away. This is valid across all New Forest car parks, making a great saving on parking charges for the whole of your holiday.
We are sorry but Amble Back is not suitable for those with mobility difficulties, the stairs to the attic room are steep. Smoking is not permitted anywhere at the property.
Fantastically located the High Street with its pubs, cafes and shops is just a stroll away, great for eating out, shopping or just browsing. A short walk away is the riverside park with its playground, skate board park and lovely river with day fishing available.
There are lots of lovely walks on your doorstep and the New Forest with its wild ponies, cattle, donkeys and deer is just 5 minutes in the car.
The beach is 30 minutes away and there is a selection of nearby town to explore. There really is something for everyone.
