Small village of Talysarn is roughly half way between Caernarfon and Porthmadog.
Village of Rhyd-Ddu at the foot of Snowdon is only 6 miles away. Another 4 miles and you'll reach the village of Beddgelert. The nearest beach, Dinas Dinlle is less than 6 miles (15 minutes drive).
Ashcoast House is within walking distance of Dorothea lakes. Five very deep former slate quarries, filled with water from underground springs. An easily accessible footpath, straight from the house, takes you around the lakes to the village of Nantlle. Perfect for walking dogs, stretching your legs and enjoying the views.
Village of Talysarn is within easy reach of the Nantlle Ridge peaks: Mynydd Graig Goch, Garnedd Goch and Craig Cwm Silyn. You can leave the car at the house and walk miles from the doorstep, exploring the mountains and lakes.
Talysarn and Penygroes are small and quiet villages with a few takeaways and pubs. Those seeking bigger choice of pubs, cafés, restaurants and night life need to head towards Caernarfon 8 miles to the north or Criccieth and Porthmadog roughly 12 miles to the south.

This path up Snowdon is the quietest of the six main routes to the summit. Out of high season, you could find yourself walking for many hours without seeing another person. You'll have the mountains and all the views to yourself and what fantastic views.

*-At the mini-roundabout: First exit towards Rhyd-Ddu , Penygroes B4418
*-Continue until you see the right turn for Rhyd-Ddu, Nantlle, Talysarn (Before a Co-Op Store). Turn right
*-Continue until you get to a T-Junction. Turn right
*-Continue towards Talysarn until you get to a T-Junction.
*-Nantlle, Rhyd-Ddu and Beddgelert are to the right. You need to turn left towards Talysarn.
*-First right turn into Station Road - Bryncelyn Road - Continue to the end and into Nantlle Road
*-Pass the big old chapel on the left.
*-On your left you will see 2 new build houses. You can park in the off-road parking bay at number 10.
