The Red Lion Cottage dates back 400 years. Originally it was 'The Red Lion Inn' & served it's own ale to King George III in 1802.
It has recently been refurbished to a luxury standard yet retaining many of it's original character features.
West Lulworth is surrounded by the Purbeck hills and close to the Dorset coastal path, it is ideal for great country walks, bird watching & local marine life. Lulworth Cove is a beautiful bay offering wildlife walks to Durdle Door & Worbarrow Bay.
The Cove has several restaurants offering fresh seafood specialities amongst other local dishes. The Red Lion Cottage is in a quiet lane within walking distance to Lulworth Cove & the local pub that offeres traditional fayre.
West Lulworth is a pretty village with thatched cottages offering a village shop/postoffice/off license. In nearby Wool there is an excellent butcher & bakery.
Visit the nearby historic market towns of Dorchester, Wareham & Corfe Castle.
The wonderful sandy beach of Studland Bay lies between the World Heritage coastline of Swanage & Poole Harbour.
The whole area is of outstanding beauty in Dorset. Visit other local beaches of Weymouth & Chesil Beach. To entertain children; Monkey World, the Bovington Tank Museum & the 'Old Steam' Swanage Railway are all nearby.
Golf, tennis, riding & watersports are also within easy reach.
The Red Lion Cottage sleeps 8 people, a baby cot is also available. All bedrooms have been individually designed and furnished and offers generous accommodation.
It comprises of:
A Master double suite; the 'Lily Room'. Beautifully furnished with antique mahogany furniture with one double bed & two single beds, that can also be utilised as a 6ft. double bed.
Second double bedroom the 'Rose Room'; comprising of a double brass bed with restored antique furniture. Third smaller double bedroom, the 'Poppy Room' with double brass bed & garden facing.
Master bathroom w. W.C. & bathtub,a further second shower room (w. power shower).
Ground floor 22ft. beamed lounge with open brick fireplace w. logburning stove, oak dining table & leather sofas.
Fully fitted 18ft. kitchen, w. second dining table overlooking garden. Hallway leading to cloakroom/W.C. Access via kitchen to patio & garden, with garden furniture.
