We stayed for 2 nights as a group of 9.
Main points for others to know/points that owners could improve: • The barn is set in a lovely and very secluded area this is great for scenery and walks etc but nearest shops are a little drive away. • There is a BBQ which is great – however no charcoal was provided which would have been good to know in advance as point above- shops are a while away. We did ask the owner on the day if they could provide any and he said someone would come round – however nobody appeared. Luckily we managed to drive somewhere and locate some. • Similar problem with loo roll – there was only one in each bathroom. Again if we had known this we could have brought more. Similar situation with asking the owner who said someone would be round with some however nobody appeared. Therefore we went out and bought some. • Wifi was terrible – again raised this with the owner at the time and he said this was often the case. • Showers were not good – very low pressure, small and not very warm. The nicest of the showers had a knob which was broken and therefore could not be used at all. • Bed linen was not very good quality and quite old. Could do with updating. • Barn could do with a good thorough clean and an airing. Lots of spider webs hanging around. Also a bit of dog like smell. Generally could do with updating in terms of décor etc. But that is maybe just more an individual taste issue. There is a lot of potential for it to be a lot nicer and cleaner. • Barn quite dark as windows not very large. Also some rooms do not have adequate curtains so sunlight coming in in the morning. • Hot tub was a good point of the barn as is the large size of the place. • We were extremely annoyed that after we had left the barn we were accused of having spent an extra night there!! We found this unacceptable and an unneccesary hassle. We advise that the owner sets up a more adequate check out policy to stop this happening again. After we explained that this was most certainly not the case we received our deposit back. However this does leave a sour taste... Please note that all reviews are intended as a guide only.
