Customer Reviews

19th October 2015
The scenery, the hospitality of our hosts, The peace and quiet of the area with spectacular views from the cottage and relaxing in front of the wood burner watching TV after a hard days shopping!! Otherwise a very relaxing holiday for my sister and I and our elderly mother who loves the Yorkshire Dales and who was evacuated as a young girl from Sunderland to Castle Bolton during the outbreak of the second world war, so a trip down memory lane has to be one of the best bits for her.
A soap dish (attached to the shower pole maybe) would have been useful as there was nowhere to put the soap when showering otherwise no improvement needed. The outside however, definitely could do with a footpath leading up to the door. The stones were quite awkward to walk on.
"Fantasic warm welcome from Alyson and Guy. As soon as we arrived Alyson explained how the log burner worked and then proceeded to get it going for us and topped the wood up throughout our stay, always with a smile on her face. Not somewhere to stay if you like a pub on the doorstep as Marsett is a hamlet with the nearest pub in Bainbridge a fair drive away, but fantastic for a peace and quiet retreat with fantastic scenery and walks. Definitely recommend this holiday destination."
