Customer Reviews

Young couple

This property is in a very peaceful location above Punta Ala with amazing views over the harbour that you can see from the front room and bedroom. There's a shady patio with tables and chairs with the same amazing view. The interior is bright and white and just the right size for a couple and it's decorated nicely. You're not overlooked by anyone so the property feels very private and relaxing.
The mattress on the bed is in very bad shape and we barely slept while we were here. I wouldn't expect a rental property to have shiny, new furniture (some of the other furniture is old and not functioning that well and we didn't mind at all) but I think it's important that guests have a good nights sleep. Replacing the bed would make a huge difference to this property.

We were told on arrival that there was a 50 Euro charge for parking - we couldn't find this listed anywhere in the property details. We paid this in cash to the owner. It would have been good to know about this.
"We had some trouble with the lock that became stuck when we were out. Cottages.com were brilliant helping us out from the UK, and the owners/property managers came and sorted the problem straight away.

You'll need a car and should expect to drive to beaches/restaurants/shops rather than walk. There's no local shop to go to. There's a shopping centre in Punta Ala that has a pharmacy and a Post Office as well as clothes shops and a small supermarket. Larger supermarkets are in Castiglione.

The best part of our trip was going to the beach in Maremma national park. Much nicer (for us) than the paid beaches in Punta Ala, this is a huge, wild beach you can visit for free with warm, shallow water.

It's probably worth noting that this is an area not often visited by UK tourists so you may have problems with the language if you don't speak much Italian. The owners of this property don't speak much English but we made ourselves understood to each other ok."
