The 12th century Königstein fortress is situated right in the middle of the town of Koenigstein. There is a wonderful bike path along the Elbe, leading right up to Dresden. You can also take a ship out of Koenigstein. Dresden has all sorts impressive and interesting cultural activities, such as the Semperoper and the Zwinger gallery with the Sistine Madonna by Raphael.
