Situated within a private, peaceful valley location just up the footpath from the Beach at Crackington Haven, between Bude & Boscastle on the spectacular North Cornwall Coast, the perfect base for exploring all the Cornwall and Devon have to offer.

The Old Shippon (Sleeps 6)
Is situated on the banks of the small stream that leads its way along the valley floor all the way to the beach. The Old Shippon has it's own garden, and decking area, overlooks the woodland. This 3 bedroomed (one double, two twin) property benefits from a lovely glowing woodburning stove, making the winter months extremely cosy. Fully equipped kitchen, dining room, lounge, bathroom with bath and shower.

Pets are very welcome and have unrestricted reign of our fields, woodland and stream.

  • We have 14 acres of fields, woodland and steam which Mineshop sits in the middle of.
  • We have a few chickens that, upon request, we welcome our guests to help us with feeding and egg collecting.

Local Information

The nearest shop is one mile walk away. Crackington Haven has a great pub 'The Coombe Barton Inn' offering food, good ales, and entertainment. You will also find 2 fantasic cafes in Crackington, open all year round.
There is another fantastic pub at Wainhouse Corner 2 miles away.
The Eden Project is about a 40 minute Drive away.
Tintagel with it's legends of King Arthur is near by.
Cornwall is famous for it's surfing beaches and we have breaks near by to cater for all abilities - surf hire is available

Change over days are typically Fridays in season, however out of season any day is considered possible.

Booking Conditions

If you would like to make a booking please email or telephone first to ensure that your required dates and property are still available, we will then hold the property for you. We will then ask you to download a booking from from our website and send it back to us, along with a one third deposit. The Balance will be payable one month before your arrival date.

Getting Here

It is recommended that our guests have a car when visiting as we are extremely remote making it possible, but difficult to get around. However, some of our guests choose to come by public transport as they like a complete escape!
The nearest Train station is Bodmin Parkway, or travel to Exeter and catch a bus to Bude, then another bus to Crackington Haven.
