Description of 64 CrovieCrovie is a historic 200 year old fishing village near Gardenstown on the Moray Firth, uniquely nestled between the sea and the cliffs. It is located close to the village of Pennan, used in the film Local Hero and is on the circular North East 250 road trip.Crovie is the ideal place to relax and get away from it all, with stunning views and abundant bird and sealife. 64 Crovie benefits from facing the sea with direct views from the downstairs windows. It is located near the end of the village so a barrow is provided for transporting luggage and shopping ! The cottage provides cosy accommodation for 4 and is very well equipped, with all you need for a comfortable stay. Downstairs is a lounge with wood burner, TV and DVD, a large kitchen/dining room with woodburner and compact shower room. The kitchen has a built in cooker, and microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer. In the dining area, a large pine dining table seats 6 and board games are provided for visitor use. Upstairs are two large bedrooms both with twin beds and windows onto the hillside behind the cottage. Electric heaters are available in all rooms. In front of the cottage a wooden bench is provided and other outdoor seating is available in the cottage, so you can sit and watch the world go by and look out for the Moray Firth dophins which frequent the area. Local InformationCrovie is a bird watchers paradise and it is close to the RSPB reserve at Troup Head – Scotlands' only gannet colony. There are number of boat/fishing trips available around the coast from Banff to see the birds and variety of marine life in the area including seals and if you are lucky - the Moray Firth Dolphins. Further afield, there are a variety of activities including quiet beaches, golf courses, castles and whisky distilleries. There is a pub and cafe in Gardenstown, where you can walk to around the cliffs (15 mins) and a Spa at the top of Gardenstown. For major supermarkets and other shops, Banff is the nearest centre 7 miles from the cottage.
