Situated within a short stroll into the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water known as 'the Venice of the Cotswolds', Spring Cottage is an extensively and lovingly restored Cotswold Stone property that has all the modern conveniences of a new home whilst still having all the charm and character of a Cotswold Cottage. Beautifully decorated in a modern, comfortable, bright cottage style and fully equipped with everything you will need for a relaxing holiday. With parking for 2 cars, Spring Cottage is an ideal base from which to explore the Cotswolds.

The cottage is within a very short walking distance of all the village facilities. Bourton-on-the-Water village has a zoological birdpark, model village, model railway, motor museum, Bourton Lakes coarse fisheries, perfumery workshop, pottery, children's indoor playbarn, swimming pool, maze and a good range of specialist shops.

There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars in the village and nearby hamlets. The village is at the centre of the network of Cotswold footpaths.

The Cotswolds is a favourite holiday destination for many people. It offers something to do all year round and is straightforward to get to and from. Bourton is in the River Windrush valley so has a sheltered mild climate. The river in the centre of the village is a favoured place to paddle and feed the ducks.

3 bedrooms, 2 spacious double bedrooms (1 with ensuite shower room) and 1 twin bedded room all with memory foam/pocket sprung, top quality new mattresses. Travel Cot Available.

1 family bathroom on first floor with separate shower cubicle, bath, wc and sink. En-suite to double bedroom on the 2nd floor with shower cubicle, sink and wc.

New modern fully fitted kitchen with electric cooker, induction hob, extractor fan, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave and tasimo machine.

Living Rooms:
Open plan modern lounge/dining room with dining table, 6 chairs and dresser. Lounge area with 2 large leather sofas and armchair. Flat screen TV with freeview, DVD player and small up-to-date DVD library and XBox. Centrally heated and log burning stove.

Cleaning/Towels/Linen/Maid service:
The property is extensively cleaned before guests arrive. 100% cotton bed linen (except cot linen/blankets), fluffy white towels and tea towels are provided.

Double French Patio Doors lead from the lounge onto a private south facing, beautifully paved patio area with hardwood garden table, chairs and parasol (seats 6) plus bench where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine whilst listening to the church bells and birdsong. Cotwold gravelled garden with pretty raised flower beds. The park and playing fields know as 'The Naight' can be accessed by a lockable gate at the end of the garden which is a lovely area for children to have a run-a-round and play ball games or to walk your pet.

Local Information

Spring Cottage is located within a few minutes stroll from the centre of the famously picturesque village of Bourton-on-the-Water. Bourton on the Water has a two small supermarkets, plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and cash machines. We provide a file of information in the cottage on places to eat, drink and visit in the surrounding area.

Walk out the door of Spring Cottage, through the back of the town and you can have your pick of beautiful walks through the countryside surrounding Bourton on the Water. Escape to the Cotswolds has a wonderful list of walks to inspire you. If you prefer a set of wheels there are lovely cycle routes to sample too and bicycles can easily be hired locally.

Prices are based upon 4 guests. An additional guest will be £10 per night (minimum £20).
Dogs sometimes accepted dependant upon age and breed a charge of £50 per week will be made (sorry no puppies).
Sorry no young, same sex parties of guests.
The owner reserves the right to refuse a booking when they feel the cottage is unsuitable for a parties needs.
No parties or events to be held at the cottage.


Arrival is normally on Fridays, Saturdays or Mondays (this may sometimes be flexible dependant upon availability). Saturdays only during high season.
Arrival from 4.00 pm and departure by 10.00am on final day.

Booking Conditions

A deposit of £100 per booking, per week payable on booking.
Reasonable electricity, gas and unlimited wifi access are included in the price.
Balance payable 8 weeks before arrival.
A £75 Security deposit (£100 if a dog is in the party) is required and returned within 10 days following departure by bank transfer.
Discounts may sometimes be given to returning guests (non applicable during peak season)

The line from Kingham runs to London Paddington, via Oxford, in 100 minutes. Nearest airport Birmingham 48 miles,

The cottage is perfectly situated for visiting the most beautiful villages and towns of the Cotswold area. It is within easy distance of the picturesque Upper and Lower Slaughters, Stow on the Wold, Moreton in Marsh, Broadway, Chipping Campden, Cirencester, Cheltenham, Northleach, Winchombe, Snowshill, Burford, Tetbury, Bibury and Painswick. It is an hour drive or train journey away from the historic cities of Bath and Oxford, and forty-five minutes drive from the Shakespearian gem of Stratford.
