Description of 1 Hurstly Cottage

Quiet and peaceful are the usual descriptions in our guest book.
1 Hurstly Cottage has 4 bedrooms, 2 sitting rooms,2 bathrooms, a large dining room with wood burner and a kitchen with breakfast room attached. There is an open log fire in the Snug and a 42' LED TV making it perfect retreat for those cooler evenings. The lower sitting room has 43' TV as well so clashes of viewing can be avoided! There is ample parking for 3+ cars. The garden has lots of interesting areas of trees and shrubs as well as 4 areas of lawn to play on and it is well fenced so is safe for children and animals.
Being about equidistant between Lymington and Brockenhurst, 1 Hurstly Cottage is superbly located for shops, restaurants and there are good local pubs. It is near the sea and minutes from the heart of the New Forest for walks or cycle rides making it the ideal place to base for your holiday as you have the best of everything.

This is a lovely, quiet area, lots of bird song and little traffic on the lane.

Local Information

Nearest shop is just under 2 miles away on the way into Lymington. When you get to Lymington itself, approx another mile, there are numerous shops and several supermarkets including Waitrose and Tesco.
On Saturday there is an excellent Market in Lymington which runs down much of the High Street.
There are a variety of restaurants from the usual Italians and Indians to very good independent ones.
The other direction lies Brockenhurst where there is a proper High Street still with a butcher, baker and greengrocers.
There is also a good farm shop on the way there that sells local meat and veg and wine from its vineyard.

Accessibility Details

The property is not suitable for wheelchair users.

We do weekend breaks basically through the low and shoulder seasons. Until the mid June and then from September forwards. We do a special weekend tariff giving the option on staying 2 or 3 nights for the same price. This means even if you cannot stay on for the Sunday night you can still use the cottage throughout the day and head off when you wish rather than having to be out by any particular time on the Sunday. The weekend rate is 70% of the weekly tariff.

We always run our weeks Friday - Friday.
The cottage will be available from 3pm on the day of your arrival and we ask you to have departed by 10am the following Friday. We also ask you please to leave the cottage much as you found it.

Booking Conditions

We ask for 50% deposit at time of booking and the balance becomes payable at the 2 month out point.
We sometimes ask for a returnable security deposit. Dogs welcome with a £25 per tail charge as long as they stay downstairs and off the furniture.
